Famous Singer-Song Write Taylor Swift and Football Player Travis Kelce, considered one of the best tight ends of all time, plays for the Kanas City Chiefs. Somehow the two have come together as a so-called “couple” as they have been seen together on many occasions.
It all started in September when Swift was seen attending multiple Chiefs games while sitting with Kelce’s Mother, Donna Kelce, who is a proud mother of two Super Bowl 2023 athletes. Kelce and Taylor have also been seen holding hands after a Saturday Night Live after party. This may just be the beginning of something, but maybe soon “You Belong With Me” will be sung towards someone new.
The “couple” may be a good thing to some people but their are many opinions flying around from all over the world. Some fans of both Kelce and Swift are happy, and think it’s great that they are becoming something. There is a whole lot of controversy though, some fans are saying Swift is making Kelce famous and nobody knew him before, but others are saying Kelce is making Swift famous. What do you think ?
At Anderson High School, we have many Swifties and definitely many football players, Including 9th grader Swiftie, Mary Kate Short. Short has been listening to Taylor Swift since before she can remember, her mom listened to Swift when she was a baby and Kate definitely caught onto it. Swift is an important artist to Short and has brought joy to many sad moments in her life. Short enjoys and has been lucky enough to see Swift in concert a total of three times including her Reputation Tour in 2019, and her Eras Tour in 2023, which were Night 1 Chicago and Night 1 Cincinnati.
Football player Ellis Anderson goes to Anderson High School as well and has a very deep passion about the sport. Ellis has played football his whole life, although he just started playing on a team about 3 years ago. Anderson says “Football has always been my passion, my coping mechanism to remove myself because I don’t like talking to people very much.” He feels that football is deeper than just playing with a ball. “I can always express myself and be who I wanna be when I’m playing”, Anderson says.
“I like Taylor and Travis, he’s cute,tall and seems really sweet,” Short says. Short thinks Travis is good for Swift and thinks that all the fuss about them is getting out of hand. “Everyone else should mind their business, it seems they’re happy and that’s all that matters”.
“I think the idea of Taylor and Travis is cool but I think they are taking it a little too far,” Anderson says. Anderson thinks that the internet should leave them be. Anderson does not feel that Swift is making Kelce famous, he says “absolutely not, Travis has been well known since forever just like Taylor”
