64% of students at Anderson high school believe that parents should tell their children that Santa is real. For over 500 years parents have been telling their children that the jolly man dressed in a big red robe comes to their homes one night out of the year which is Christmas.
This tradition has endured until modern day, although some students at Anderson High School think that it is unfair that parents lie to their children. I personally think that parents should let their kids believe in Santa. I believe that waiting for Santa is an experience that every kid should get. It may be upsetting for the children when they find out the truth, but it doesn’t have to be as bad as some make it.
Some students say they wish their parents would have told them the truth because of the fact that it was “traumatic” for them but I believe that is caused by the way the parents approach the situation. It can be positive if you make it. According to the New York Times, some children feel good when they find out about Santa. They feel as if they have solved something that has kept them wondering for many years.
