Kendrick Lamar and J Cole have revived old beef that has taken the internet by storm.
You may have wondered what could have started this beef? Well in last year’s album “For All The Dogs” by Drake where in his song “First Person Shooter” he took shots at Kendrick.
Drake called Kendrick a “pipsqeak” that calls himself a “big stepper” that wears “size 7 shoes.”
Kendrick has responded with a song called “Like That” with Metro Boomin and Future. Kendrick took shots at Drake in the song. “What? I’m really like that/And your best work is a light pack/N—-, Prince outlived Mike Jack’/N—-, bum,” Lamar raps. “‘Fore all your dogs gettin’ buried/ That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary.”
But it seems like for the longest time Drake and Kendrick have had this beef through rap songs. But Kendrick Lamar said in an interview with a Los Angeles radio station, “It’s all love.”
This might confuse some people, making them wonder if the beef is legitimate or just through songs to get streams and money.
But after beefing for so long J. Cole couldn’t seem to stand it any longer and apologized to Kendrick Lamar in public while performing one of his shows saying he “felt terrible” after dropping the diss track aimed at Kendrick Lamar called “7 Minute Drill” that he later deleted.
He makes the whole song about Kendrick and how he stands above him. So Kendrick responded with a snippet of his new diss track “Freestyle” that is not yet fully released. This track is his response to both Drake and J Cole.
But now the main beef is just between Kendrick and Drake. Drake has stolen the show from Kendrick Lamar. Drake has 81 million monthly listeners while Kendrick has 62 million and J Cole 43 million. It is clear that Drake is stealing the show between the two which may stoke new beef. Even though these three rappers are favorites of many people we should still wonder, how much longer will this beef last and if it is legitimate?
