The Anderson community was repulsed to learn about the arrest of a Liberty Christian teacher, baseball coach, and pastor at Middletown Church. Claud Talbert Greenlee II was booked by Madison County Sheriff’s Department on July 31 for possession of child pornography and child exploitation.

Greenlee’s arrest has impacted those closest to him. Carter Wicker is a student at Liberty Christian, and a member of the baseball team. “He used to be my science and math teacher, he was a strong biblical mentor I felt comfortable talking to about things. He also taught me a lot about media and baseball recruiting. I was honestly a little shocked, I didn’t think it would be what it was, originally I was just upset he was put on administrative leave,” Carter stated.

Despite his shock, Wicker said he would be able to forgive Greenlee.

“Of course, I believe as Christians it’s our job to forgive and love our brothers and sisters,” he said.
