This probably isn’t the first time students have heard about the girls wrestling team, coach Rosenow has been repeatedly advertising about the girls wrestling team because it would be a good experience for our school to have a girls wrestling team as well as an boys wrestling team. This is one of the first seasons that they have had a girls wrestling team.
Coach Rosenow has been coaching wrestling for the past 8 years and this his second head coaching job. Coach Rosenow says “I do not know what really inspired me to actually pursue coaching wrestling, I love wrestling and helping out. As you may know Coach Rosenow is the head coach of the boys and girls wrestling team so there might be some struggles with teaching each and everyone of them. “There are several differences that a coach needs to understand, the girl’s body moves differently than the boy’s. So when you show them moves you need to adjust your teaching towards that.” Rosenow commented.
As mentioned before this is the first year having a full girls wrestling team so I spoke with female wrestler Tannesha Samules this is her first year trying wrestling.
“My friend convinced me to join, I never tried the sport before but I was told it would be good conditioning for track and I wanna do track later on this year.” Samules explained. Wrestling comes with some nerves, anxiety, and you might be nervous before going out onto the mat for a match. “A lot of people get concussions and I just don’t want to get a concussion, or I don’t wanna break anything.” Said Samules. Wrestling is a tough sport. You have to have the strength, the skills, and the technique so you won’t get hurt or even break any bones.
