Winter guard starts season

Winter will be starting soon. It is different from Color Guard because it exclusively guards students and their competitions take place during the winter. Students learn to spin flags, and weapons, dance, and march drills to music. They practice in the practice field and gymnasiums 2-3 times a week.
“[Winter Guard] inspires me to get out and start moving,” said junior Cerenity Waymire. Winter guard is a good way to get some exercise. Winter guard can inspire people to exercise more with the amount of movement you do. In Winter Guard you move a lot with the dancing and spinning flags and weapons simultaneously.
“[Winter guard] has this atmosphere and the people there,” Waymire said. Winter guard creates a great atmosphere. It’s a great place to meet people with good energy
Winter Guard Winter Guard’s first competition is on January 1st. Winter Guard will last until March and then the season will end.
