Music is like a super important part of my life, and one artist I listen to all the time is Rod Wave. He just gets it, his songs are all about real feelings and struggles, and that’s why I want to share my top 3 favorite songs made by Rod Wave and break down why they hit different for me. It’s not just about liking them, it’s about how they make me feel and what the lyrics say and how Rod Wave sings them.
Letter From Houston
First up, my number one favorite has to be “Letter From Houston.” This song feels like Rod Wave is actually talking directly to you, like a real letter. It’s packed with all his pain, the tough times he’s been through, and all the stuff that makes him relatable. When he sings, you can just feel the emotion, and it makes you feel the song. It’s the kind of track that sticks in your head long after you’ve heard it. And that’s why it takes the top spot for me.
Tombstone
Coming in at second place is “Tombstone.” This song is all about Rod Wave dealing with his own pain and the fear of people forgetting him. You can really hear the emotion in his voice, which makes it super powerful. A lot of his songs talk about struggles, and this one does also, but I feel like the lyrics here are maybe a little more straightforward than some of his other song but he most definitely has more good songs than not interesting songs, The beat is slow but it matches the sad vibe, but sometimes it sounds a bit like other songs he’s done. Still, it’s a really strong song that gets its message across
2018
Finally, rounding out my top three is “2018” in this song, Rod Wave talks about his past and all of the hard things he went through back in 2018. It’s definitely relatable, but it doesn’t grab me quite as much as the other 2 songs I had named. He talks about growing and dealing with pain, which is cool, but he also repeats himself, which can make the song feel a little slow. The music itself is calm and emotional, but it could have a bit more energy to really stand out and be more memorable and less interesting.
So, those are my top 3 Rod Wave songs:”letter From Houston,” “Tombstone,” also ‘2018.” I picked them based on how much I relate to the lyrics, the emotion in his voice, and how they make me feel as if he’s right there singing along with me. Rod Wave’s music is special because it’s so honest, and it’s a great way to connect with feelings most of us experience.
