The second movie to “Black Phone” was just recently released on Oct. 17. A movie about a phone that connects victims to the spirits of past victims, helping them survive a dangerous kidnapper.  

This movie mixes supernatural and psychological horror together. There are already millions of people who have watched the movie and many have said that they preferred it more than the first movie. 

Sophomore Leah Allen, at Anderson High School says, “I liked both of the movies but the second one had more intensity and it was scarier than the first one. It was just more interesting all together.” 

Others are not too fond of the movie though, some reviews on the internet say that it is the worst movie they have ever seen. Some claim it has a terrible plot along with terrible jump-scares. 

Laine, a person under the Google reviews section of the Black Phone movie says, “This was one of the worst movies I’ve ever watched. It’s so boring and the jump-scares were terrible. The plot was terrible. They honestly should’ve just ended it at the first movie.” 

Allen strongly disagrees with Laines’ statement though. She says, “It was not boring at all, in my opinion every piece of the movie was at least a solid 7/10. The jump-scares were good or a movie that is supposed to take place in an older time. The plot aligns perfectly with the first movie and it all makes sense and pieces together perfectly in my opinion.”

The majority of people really enjoyed the movie while some others did not. Don’t let other people’s opinions on the movie control a choice of whether to watch the movie or not though. Go watch it and form your own opinion.
