Andrew Biller has been working at AHS for 4 years, running programs like Tribecast, Student Pub/Newspaper, English, and was briefly in charge of the Yearbook committee. I’ve known him since I first started going to AHS and the one thing about him that I constantly make fun of him for was his beard. He started growing it out when quarter one ended and didn’t truly shave it until midway through quarter 3. After noticing the change from face full of hair to baby skin face it got me thinking, should Mr. Biller grow back his beard?
I will admit I made fun of Mr. Biller’s beard quite frequently during his run with it but I did think that the beard actually looked pretty good on him. I think he also looks good shaved. Most of his style compliments the shave better than the beard did. But there were times that the beard made him look like Robin Williams from Good Will Hunting and it made him look inspiring.
However, Mr. Biller says the beard wasn’t for any stylistic choice but rather a way for extra warmth. “I shaved the beard because I thought it was getting warm and it was 50 degrees outside for a couple days in a row,” he said, “then Indiana did this thing (snow) and now it’s 25 degrees again.” Now just because he grew a beard for practical reasons that doesn’t mean he’s fully against having a beard in general. He just prefers having more of a shaved face.
I personally think that Mr. Biller should grow back his beard but keep it short shaved and trimmed because he looked really professional with that type of beard and I miss making fun of him for the beard. But I’m fine if he keeps it shaved. After all his beard, his choice.
