Since April 2023, an estimated 150,000 people have died due to the conflicts in Darfur. I believe the United States should step in and help defend the innocent people living in Sudan that are getting murdered, simply for being ethnically Darfuri. You can see the sand covered in blood from satellite images. The United Arab Emirates are funding the Rapid Support Forces(RSF) so they can continue to massacre ethnic Darfuris. Children are going without houses, food, and water as the RSF destroys cities and tries to ethnically cleanse the Darfur region.
According to Human rights research, “With each passing minute, the situation in Sudan grows more dire. The conflict between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), and their allies continues to wreak havoc and terror on the civilian population.” This organization researchs human rights, which shows how the Sudanese genocide is ruining lives in Sudan. This isn’t the start of conflicts in the Darfur region, in fact since 1955, millions of Sudanese have died in civil war conflicts over the Darfur region. The United States should focus more aid to the Darfur region, including emergency food aid, health services, water/sanitation, and shelter.
According to the United States holocaust museum, “The fighting resulted in the death of half a million people, mostly civilians, and forced hundreds of thousands to flee their homes.” This evidence show how civil wars have affected the Sudanese over the Darfur region for years and how millions have died over useless genocide. If the United States sent aid to Sudan throughout their genocide problems, i think significantly less people would have been killed.
“This ground invasion of alfas is just the last stage of an elaborate and well calculated and comprehensive genocidal design.” States Sudan’s ambassador, Babikir Elamin. So far the United States has not given any money directly to fund Sudan, but to humanitarian aid, a group which funds countries all over the world, including emergency food aid, health services, water/sanitation, and shelter. To help people in the Darfur region, you can donate money to the humanitarian aid group which focuses on supporting affected groups alike in the Darfur region.
