The battle between the beards is on at Anderson High School with four teachers all as contenders in a random poll to prove that their beard is the best. There are all different types of beards long, short, stubble, and shaped up. These four teachers know how to keep their beard crispy clean and well maintained.
Maintaining your beard can be a lot of work and most people don’t know how to maintain their beard. Teachers at Anderson High School Andrew Biller, Jeffery Dick, and Joe Monroe gave me advice on their beards and having some of the best beards in the school.

“So,in the shower, I have a beard shampoo and a beard conditioner.” Biller said. A beard shampoo and conditioner is so important that you can wash your beard, so you don’t get hair bumps and dandruff.
“And then when I get out of the shower, if I wake up in the morning sometimes I’ll use like a beard oil or a beard jelly. and it really, uh, kind of helps, uh, from getting like dandruff all over the place. It helps keep the skin underneath their moisturized, ” Biller said. This is important to keep your skin moisturized and clean so you can be clean and have gentle skin especially after eating food.
“And, you know, sometimes it takes longer than shaving, I would say, because you still got to clean up the lines and make it look good. I mean, unless you got like a big, uh, mountain man type of beard, um, you still got to do your line,” Biller said. Biller’s routine to take care of his beard.

Dick has an outstanding beard and a silky white beard and people could say he has the best beard in the school. Dick’s has advice on having a great beard and how to maintain it. “ So I use both, I have both a shampoo and a conditioner just for the beard, and then I use a beard oil and a beard balm to kind of keep it soft and also keep the skin from getting dry underneath it.” He takes care of his beard to make it soft and silky and wants to spend time on how it looks and the texture.
Dick said, “But the thing is, I do that every day. I maintain it every day. I wouldn’t shave every day. So, yeah, I spend probably more time taking care of it.”
With having a long beard like Monroe, it can be challenging. “Food gets stuck in it literally all the time,” Monroe said. A beard is important for anybody that wants one to keep it clean and fresh. “Maintaining it does take longer than shaving it. I go to a barbershop once a month and get it trimmed professionally, and then I also put in homemade beard oil and beard balm to keep it shaped and hydrated, ” Monroe said. Although the other candidates maintain their beard, Monroe get his beard cut by a professional barber.

Biller and Dick say Monroe has the beard in the school, “Mr. Monroe has a pretty good beard. I like Mr. Monroe. I’d like mine better if it was all more one color.” The Instagram polls and polls I took say other wise: Dick has 16 votes, Monroe has five votes, and Biller has four votes. The winner of the beard contest is Dick with the silky long beard.
