Wednesday night ,April 2nd was the most active tornado night of the year for Indiana. Focusing on central Indiana, only one of twelve tornadoes that had been confirmed statewide by National Weather services . With wind storms sweeping across the state from southwest to northwest carrying a rotation cycle that evolved overtime. Alleviating the production of multiple tornadoes throughout greater Indianapolis areas.
However Northern and Western Indiana other tornadoes were found. Such as Brownsburg EF-2,Carmel EF-1 ,Lapel EF-2,Madison CO. EF-1 ect… Specifically Brownsburg EF-2 tracked at 9.6 miles through Eagle creek ,with peak winds estimated at 120mph. Impacting local places as with the other tornadoes.
Severe thunderstorms coming after starting in Illinois moving across Central Indiana. Embedding with one another visibly shown on “Tornado Trackers”. In addition to the tornadoes widespread wind with gusts over 80m reported. Causing drastic damage with flash flooding, ominous funnel clouds, lighting strikes and trees toppling . Consequently for that reason schools closed on Apr 2nd due to storm and tornado weather. With other organizations’ status closing, delaying or virtual learning got the day. Such as JCPS ,Bullitt county public library and a number of schools in Indiana. Specifically the date of closure was Thursday although both days affected the schools system learning.
