The sounds of Christmas carols ring out in the AHS cafeteria. It has been decorated with tinsel, Christmas trees, and blow up Santas. The smell of breakfast with eggs, sausages, and pancakes. You can have a taste of a still warm and gooey cookie. This was the Choir’s Breakfast with Santa.
Breakfast with Santa is an annual choir fundraiser to help raise money for the choral department. “We all really enjoy doing it, it’s so fun to see all the kids so happy,” says junior Core Chandler. The Breakfast with Santa is a family event geared towards kids, at the event they have a load of activities to do. They include coloring, games, and of course seeing Santa. “It’s so funny to watch how excited the kids get for Santa as they get hyped,” Chandler says.
Someone who agrees with this is Max Baker, a six-year-old who was at the event. “When I saw Santa I was like wow that’s Santa.” Santa wasn’t the only thing Baker liked at the event. “The cookies were very good. I was like whoever baked those cookies really like could bake.”
The fundraiser was not only fun, it was also lucrative. Chandler says, “Yeah we make a good amount of money off the breakfast it helps us with our show choir expenses.” All of the money raised goes to supporting Anderson High Schools award winning show choir.
