Thousands of Hoosiers in many cities across Indiana walked the streets carrying banners and signs reading “No Kings”,“No Crowns”, and “No Thrones”. It was a protest aimed at President Donald Trump, who people say he has blurred a line between democracy and personal rule. The protest drew attention to the message that no leader should stand above the people.
In downtown Indianapolis alone, more than 4,000 people gathered. They held up signs, marched, and listened to speeches. “Everyone, just, came together and chanted somewhat in an organized manner,”said Christina Helzer, an Anderson resident who attended the protest that happened in Indianapolis. “It takes many people to make change, every voice matters,”Helzer said. She believes that if many people work together, they can influence the changes in their communities.
